So, things seem to be progressing with the potential purchase of a '55 Ford Fairlane for my son as his first car. The seller has the top end apart mid-valve adjustment and I haven't heard the car run yet. A healthy mill is a critical requirement to the sale. I offered to help him this weekend if he's up to it.
My question is, what should I be looking out for with Y-blocks in general? I have no personal experience with them. My understanding is they are stout as heck but I'm curious if there are any gotchas I should be on the lookout for.
